The usability test and analysis were conducted to discover an issue, my observations, and possible fixes.
I have identified a usability issue in the one-way aisle markers located in the Safeway near my house, which has been implemented due to the pandemic. In Safeway, there are alternating aisle markers that have an arrow indicating one-ways. The markers are red squares placed on both sides of the aisles and feature the word “one way,” has an arrow, and the phrase, “remember to stay two carts apart.” It then shows two cards in the image.
After watching the way shoppers interact with the aisle markers, I noticed the following:
